SWPW ~ CALL TO OBEDIENCE

Updated: Nov 4, 2018

We know as the Redeemed of the LORD that in our hearts we desire to be obedient unto CHRIST. We desire to have His word live big in us & to move us as the Holy Spirit directs. And, I do believe as we do this CHRIST is constantly moving in our behalf behind the scenes & His Holy Spirit is constantly attending our walk in faith, that we might always be aligned with the purpose of us being in the KINGDOM OF GOD.

Remembering that we are born of His supernatural spiritual life & that more is always being accomplished in the spiritual realm can be seen by human eyes ... but we see this with our spiritual eyes!

As the REDEEMED our walk in faith & believing goes thru many seasons & times. There are great times of sowing seed, time to plant. There are great times of pulling weeds & watering times. There are times of great harvests & times of small harvests ... BUT ALL to perfect us according to our high calling in CHRIST.

THERE ARE ALSO SPIRITUAL SEASONS & TIMES OF DIVINE OBEDIENCE.

This is a new time of laying down of anything that could easily overrun our life & defile our walk. This is a time of putting aside & giving it over of anything that is not needed & not necessary in the Spirit & in our walk. This is a time of saying, 'ok enough is enough. I don't want anything that will hinder me or block me. I surrender it all & lay it down in obedience to you LORD.'

ALL OF THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED IN DIRECT OBEDIENCE TO THE HOLY SPIRIT WITH YOU. FOR HE WILL DIRECT YOUR STEPS IN THIS, IF YOU ARE WILLING. THEN AS WE ARE WILLING WE WILL ALSO REAP THE REWARDS OF DIVINE OBEDIENCE.

During such seasons, the HOLY SPIRIT may ask us to put something down that we have been doing; carrying on about for a long time up to now & or, even the surrendering of a certain act, or belief, or an uncovering & surrender of an unknown deception that we have been hanging onto. This is part of OBEDIENCE with the HOLY SPIRIT as HE DIRECTS & SEES THAT YOU ARE NOW FIT TO ACCOMPLISH! This is an obedient act of submission & surrender to His will for us, whether we understand it fully or not.

Any of this sound familiar to anyone? I hope so! Because without obedience our spiritual growth is in jeopardy. Without such listening in obedience to the HOLY SPIRIT & then obeying the HOLY SPIRIT ... we can stagnate.

Really? Really!

REALLY ... Check it out with the HOLY SPIRIT YOURSELF & see if this is true or not.

THAT IS WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING ANYWAY ... because even that small act ... keeps obedience at work with the work of the HOLY SPIRIT DAILY!

Jesus Himself was “obedient unto death, even death on a cross” (Philippians 2:8).

“If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). A Christian who is not obeying Christ’s commands can rightly be asked, “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46). We obey CHRIST because we love Him (John 14:23). Also, we understand that the spirit of obedience is as important as the act of obedience!

We must also beware of using a veneer of obedience to mask a sinful heart. Living the Christian life is not all about rules. The Pharisees in Jesus’ time relentlessly pursued acts of obedience to the Law, but they became self-righteous, believing they deserved heaven because of what they had done. They considered themselves worthy before God, who owed them a reward; however, the Bible tells us that, without Christ, even our best, most righteous works are as “filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6). The Pharisees’ external obedience still lacked something, and Jesus exposed their heart attitude. Even so we too can fall into a trap of appearing righteous to men outwardly, but inside be full of hypocrisy and iniquity” (Matthew 23:27–28). God forbid!

Let's make sure we are constantly moving on with the Holy Spirit & allow Him to check & re-check our thoughts & motives. We have nothing to fear from the constant attention given to walking in the spirit WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT & obedience starts to work in us unto more & more obedience. We truthfully find out, we have nothing to lose in being attentive to our obedience!

AMEN & MARANATHA!
